This war is far from over
If nothing else, Israel’s unilateral decision to bomb civilian targets in Lebanon and break the hours old truce, proves, once and for all, that Trump is Bibi’s bitch. I had hoped that the weekend’s commando raid turned search and rescue operation would end this debacle. Sadly, hope dies last. The president’s recent tweet about the U.S. military’s next “conquest” and Secretary of War Crimes Hegseth’s description of the war as “Victory with a capital V,” reminded me of the “Wrestling at the Olympic” locker room interviews c.1971. Much worse, Trump’s blatant lie that “Lebanon, were not included in the deal” reminded me of an abused woman who says that her husband “only hits me with an open hand.” This war is far from over and Bibi will decide when it ends.
