"The Daily Mail" told the whole story years ago in detail for anyone interested. Wexler is another key to the mystery, Southern air transport and his C-123k ( a favorite among my Air America buds)... could go on and on. Our nations business model is based on blackmail, perfected by J.E. Hoover and continues to be run by the boys from Chicago. Connecting the dots...oh to be a fly on the wall at the "el Charro" hotel here in La Jolla.

Ted, you are absolutely correct. Everything is hiding in plain sight. I concur on both Lex and SAT.. J Edgar liked La Jolla--especially the boys.

Correction, Del not El Charro. Fascinating San Diego Reader article about the place. ---really look forward to your wonderful stories . From a Chitown boyhood to my rebirth in the place truly loved since doing 2 am pushups in the DG, I'll never leave. Met so many remarkable characters here, with my kids and now gkids all born here. BTW my son , I would consider, has become a " Waterman" big wave surfer.

I read volume 2 as well. Webb lays out the whole story better than anyone else to date. Speaking as a Cold War historian who covered much of the same terrain in my book Law and War, I was a little disappointed with volume 1.
